Access Statement

INTRODUCTION

This is a free food and drink festival based in Crewkerne’s town centre - using the Market Place, Falkland Square and Henhayes car park and two indoor venues. It's aim is to showcase primary producers from within 25 miles. There are over 70 stalls, cookery school, art workshops and entertainment at each one-day festival.

PUBLIC TRANSPORT

The festival site is approximately 1.2 miles from the railway station and will take approximately 20 minutes to walk.  The terrain is flat with dropped kerbs throughout.

There is also a wide choice of taxi services in the town, and an accessible choice is South Petherton Freeway Taxi who can be contacted 01460 247 040

CAR PARKS

The nearest car park is South Street, which is approximately 200m from the festival site.    

 

NOTE:- Cars displaying a blue badge get a free extra hour in all car parks. Designated spaces for blue badge holders are available in all car parks.

SITE ENTRY

Entry to the site is free and all on level ground.

Streets:

Market Place - cobble sets

Falkland Square mix of tarmac and granite sets - smooth

Henhayes - tarmac

Level access throughout.

 

Town Hall:

Ramped access. Carpeted floors.

Henhayes:

Ramped acces. Carpeted floors. Disabled toilet

Stalls

The majority of stalls are canvas gazebos with counters at table height (75cms) and producers will be happy to serve from the front of the stall.

Cook School in the Henhayes Centre

There is level acess via the access door. 

This is a hands-on cook school and the counter is at table height (75cm). The host is available to assist those requiring more help.

PUBLIC TOILETS

There are public toilets in the Town Hall, Henhayes Centre and on street behind the Library

There is also portaloos at Henhayes. This includes an accessible loo, with wider doorway

There are also many cafes, bars and restaurants around the festival that allow access during the festival.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
