eat:Portishead 8 August

This was a new host town for us in 2018. We set up a large market around the marina with lots of family entertainment and welcomed over 15,000 visitors. We were really pleased to see so many embracing our sustainability goals and choosing to walk, cycle or ride into the festival.

This year will be a bit different with a whole new layout to give more space for visitors and our producers. We are using the large public squares on the north side of the marina (London Square to the dockgates). You will find hand sanitiser stations and reminder signage about social distancing and being kind to eachother.

Portishead is easy commute from Bristol and has a large population living around the marina. We are work with North Somerset Council to create an ace festival for Portishead during the school holidays. Alongside our local producers we have a few creative nautical types.

We are trading 10 - 4pm

The Met Office have issued a Health Alert due to very warm temperatures expected over the next few days.

If you are in the area affected you are advised to:

* stay tuned to the weather forecast

* keep an eye on people you know to be at risk

* look out for vulnerable neighbours

* follow key public health messages

If you are thinking of attending the festival please carry and drink plenty of fluids and avoid excess alcohol, dress appropriately for the weather and slow down when it is hot.

We have undertaken a review of operations and published our Covid Response Plan.

We provide an opportunity to buy produce from local producers in a well run, safe environment. There have been multiple recommendations and guidelines issued to change public behaviour. We aim to amplify these to demonstrate best practice and support locally led activities.

We have shared with potential visitors our plans for social distancing and safe practices.
